I love this analysis, god, I can't even express how much I adore your mind. I also think of The Help around this particular literary stereotype, since its original working title must've been Mammy Trope: The Book.

My gosh, The Help is a perfect example of that as well. Actually I'm thinking about that scene--- the shit pie and how that is a perversion of nurturing and care 🤯🤯

We used to have plans in elementary school, and I was always the mother because I was bigger than the other kids and wore a bra from age 10. Not the same thing, I know. But I hear you and see you.
